A family with children aged three and six is flying with a connection in Dubai. The cheapest option leaves 55 minutes to change planes. We choose a flight with two hours to spare, arrange assistance to guide the family through the airport, and they spend the wait in a lounge.

Our story

Our founder, Filip Walter, grew up travelling: his parents took him around the world from the age of three months.

His father, David Walter, travelled much of the world as a journalist and founded Travel Life magazine. His mother, Veronika Walterová, worked in marketing and sales for airlines such as Singapore Airlines, airBaltic, Icelandair and Air Mauritius. They met through work and married in Mauritius, and their wedding set off a whole wave of Mauritius weddings that they went on to organise for their clients.

Veronika did not share David’s taste for adventurous travel, so the family travelled differently, and their travel agency Blue Marlin moved into luxury travel. Filip’s journeys were unlike those of his friends, and for a long time he thought this was simply how everyone travelled.

He respects his parents’ work and ideas, but as a new generation he sees many things a little differently. With travel in his genes, he wanted to stay in the industry, and his parents accepted his proposal to work together.

Walter Private Journeys grows out of exactly this combination: family experience, a fresh perspective and the conviction that luxury travel can be natural, personal and free of needless ostentation.
